How Yoga Has Changed the Way Americans Look at Exercise
In my mind I would say boring for one. From being newly introduced to yoga, to learning some initial poses from videos at home, I now know why yoga studios are now springing up in neighborhoods everywhere.
The reason behind this is that yoga is not just about exercise. Yoga is about balance. Think of it this way, our whole entire world runs on balance or imbalance. Polluted, or not polluted, evil or good, healthy or unhealthy. Balance is an extremely important element in life that must be achieved through personal development. Yoga is great because yoga means balancing life, stress, exercise, and mindfulness when implementing yoga routines.
Yoga also brings a certain spirituality aspect to me personally. This may be different between other peoples’ experiences, but yoga makes me concentrate, relax, and breathe. The combination of those steps are what some people might call meditation, other people might simply call it relaxing. Whatever you call it, this is the one of the primary reasons why I do yoga routines.
In terms of health and general well-being, yoga and walking in my opinion, are two of the most important exercises that anyone should focus on. This is due to the fact that both exercises work-out the max amount of muscles in your body. Yoga and walking also concentrate heavily on breathing and releasing adequate oxygen levels to your muscles. This paves the way for toning and muscle development in both the long and short-run.
Until next time, yoga on!
